I actually think a Monte Carlo is one of the few recent(ish) cars it's acceptable to do this to. I mean, it's a personal luxury coupe that was often known for playing fast and loose with good taste, so a carriage roof does kind of go along with that.

Still hideous though, the car and the roof. I always thought pretty much nobody bought these until I moved to upstate New York and found that they're damn near everywhere up here. Probably a combination of socioeconomic status and irrational fear of RWD.

my grandfather had an SS and wanted to add the roof. We talked him out of it. I guess it was something he always had back in the day on his cars. Instead he got the black racing stripes. better choice.
